NonPop is dedicated to providing free space for artistic expression. Everyone is welcome to submit writing, art, music, etc. If you're interested in submitting work and would like to know how, email me. On the sly side, many people asked me significance of the name NonPop. There are two answers to that question …

1. I originally created the site for artist friends of mine who I hoped were interested in displaying their art online, but didn't have the know how do so. They were all in college at the time and as such were emerging artists and not yet "popular" in the art scene.
2. I hate pop (not pop art though), can't freakin' stand it. MTV and pop culture have soiled many things in my life (Metallica for instance, my lord ... did I say soiled? I meant I done been shattered) and I became interested in creating a site that would attempt to stand against it … a big dream for one boy and a small site, but a dream nonetheless.

The goal of NonPop is to allow everyone interested in sharing their art, writing, music, etc., online to do so, and to create a community of like minded arists. Currently the site is limited to writing, but I'm working on gallery and music capabilities and hope to have them up soon.
